First steps in faith

We have exciting discussions and look at lots of different

Bible passages.

The themes covered are drawn from Bubbles and Splash, part of the Scripture Union’s Light resources. Bible stories come alive with action songs, games and drama as well as craft activities used to develop their understanding of the Bible.  All the children are keen to join in our prayer time with their own prayers. Each week they take home a copy of the bible passage and whatever they have made.

Growing in Faith

Children explore faith in the context of their lives through craft, drama and discussion and exploring God’s word. We tackle issues of what Christians believe and why.

The themes covered are based around Scripture Union resources.

Do you remember the finger play game, “This is the church, this is the steeple; open the door, and there are the people”? In that game, the fingers represent the people in the church. It shows that the church is not a building, but a living “body” of people who meet together regularly.

On the first Sunday of each month we have a family all-age worship service which includes opportunities for the children to get involved.

Activity Page

On the other Sundays, we have groups for the different age ranges to allow the youngsters to learn about and explore the great news that that Jesus brings for themselves. These groups go out part way through the morning service.

We try to make the Bible message relevant to all ages. All our members value the Bible as a source of inspiration and understanding but more importantly it has drawn us close to God as we have understood its amazing message.
